About Dr. Bias
A native of St. Louis, Dr. Bias graduated from Country Day School in 1984. After attending Rice University in Houston, TX, he received his undergraduate degree from The College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, VA. Dr. Bias earned his medical degree at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in Nashville, TN. Following an internship at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, he completed his residency in ophthalmology at USAF Wilford Hall Medical Center in San Antonio, TX. Dr. Bias then served as Chief of Ophthalmology at Keesler AFB Medical Center in Biloxi, MS and finished his military educational commitment at the Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine.
Dr. Bias is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Dr. Bias is also board certified as a cataract specialist by the American Board of Eye Surgery and is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, the American Medical Association, and the Missouri State Medical Association.
Dr. Bias specializes in advanced cataract care, utilizing the “No-Shot, No-Stitch, No-Patch” surgical approach that offers patients rapid visual recovery after surgery. Additionally, he is pleased to offer custom laser vision correction (LASIK) to improve distance vision and comprehensive ophthalmology care. Dr. Bias lives in the St. Louis area with his wife and three children, returning to his home state of Missouri in 2001 to practice after serving our country for seven years on active duty in the United States Air Force.
