About Dr. Sayed-Ahmed
Dr. Ibrahim Sayed-Ahmed is a board-certified ophthalmologist with a distinguished medical background. He graduated with honors in the top 15% of his class from Alexandria University, earning a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery. He then enhanced his expertise through an observership and a research fellowship at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, focusing on Cornea and Ocular Surface Tumors.
In 2018, Dr. Sayed-Ahmed completed his Master’s in Vision Science and Investigational Ophthalmology at the University of Miami. He continued his training with an ophthalmology residency at Baylor College of Medicine, followed by a clinical fellowship in cornea, external disease, and refractive surgery at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute. He is a proud member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
Beyond his medical career, Dr. Sayed-Ahmed was an accomplished volleyball player for the Alexandria Sporting Club, securing 4th place in the national championship in the 2004/2005 season.
Dr. Sayed-Ahmed is also deeply committed to community service. He has volunteered in several blood drives at Alexandria University Hospital and actively supports the Alexandria Eye Association, a charitable organization that funds eye surgeries for patients in need.
